Stampin’ Fun with Irene

My life as a wife, working girl & papercrafter

Happy Australia Day! & new card

Firstly, a BIG Happy Australia Day to all those Aussies out there.  It is absolutely beautiful here in Melbourne today with the temp at the moment being around 23C – which is just nice for me.  I’ve been trying to relax today as my back is not the best this weekend and I need to prepare myself for another week at work.

Been busy with the computer trying to set up a network so that I can surf the Net on my laptop in my craft room.  It’s sort of working but I think I need a computer techie in to have a look.  In between, I’ve made a card.  This one is using the Baroque Motifs set which is one of my favourites at the moment.  The colours are Choc Chip and Old Olive.  The piece of Old Olive cardstock has been scored into one inch squares to form a Faux Tile technique while the medallion at the front was made using Versamark & clear embossing powder.

My inspiration came from Angie Kennedy Juda who has a fantastic blog called Stampin’ Academy and she has some great tutorials there.  Thanks Angie!

Collage madness

This collage card was also inspired from the Creative Cardmaking magazine I bought today.  I had lots of fun cutting up the squares (they are 2.5cm square) and sticking them onto a piece of Whisper White, then edging with black ink and applying to a Basic Black card front.  The flowers and wording are rub-ons.

Lovely as a Tree

Finally, this weekend (long weekend here in Australia for Australia Day celebrations) I get to sit down and make some cards.  First one on display is my attempt at a man’s card.  I hate making masculine cards, but I was inspired today from a card in this month’s “Creative Cardmaking 2009 Annual” magazine.  This is my take on a card on Page 22.

Hello again! I’m back

Well, it certainly has been a while since I posted.  Since October 2007 (aargh, my last post!)  we have sold up and moved from Perth to Melbourne and I guess it has taken me this long to sort things out, including doing some more blog posting.  We have spent most of the last year getting used to Melbourne, working, and renovating our new house.  Here is a quick pic:

One good thing is I now have a 6m x 6m craft room for my papercrafts.  Yipee!

This photo of our 12m x 6m workshop shows the side entry door to my craft area – it is at the back of the workshop.

I actually had some time today to make a couple of cards but I will have to include them in the next post as they aren’t scanned yet.  I’ve also moved my previous blog entries to WordPress from Blogger – hopefully it will encourage me to post more often.

Lastly, a photo of Pat on Boxing Day enjoying the cricket at the MCG.

That’s all for now folks!  See you soon.
